Heat from a local resource
Recal Breil SA was founded with the aim of using firewood from the region for heating and production heat. The heating association uses the renewable local resource, is an employer in the village and thus also makes an important contribution to local value creation. The community is a co-owner of the company.
The Pradas Resort was the first customer to be connected to the heating network. In the meantime, the village centre with its public buildings, shops and private houses has been connected. Today, the resort draws the residual heat from the heating circuit before the water in the pipes is heated again.
The name Recal is Romansh and means: calira regenerabla/renewable energy/heat.
